Housing

Off-campus Rentals: Sudbury has various bachelor, 1, 2, and 3 bedroom apartments and house rentals available throughout the city. To learn more about how to find and apply for an off-campus rentals please refer to the Residence section on Laurentian University’s website.

Dining and Shopping

On-Campus: Laurentian University offers a wide range of restaurants including; Subway, Starbucks, Toppers Pizza, Smoke’s Poutinerie, bistros, cafes and an all-you-can enjoy buffet. For additional on-campus dining services, please refer to Laurentian University’s website.

Off-Campus: Laurentian University’s campus is just a short drive away from a variety of restaurants and shopping centres for all your needs. 

 

Transportation and Parking

Included in tuition, is a city bus pass that is valid from September to April.

There are more than 15 parking lots situated throughout campus. For more information regarding parking passes and parking lots please refer to Laurentian University’s Website.

Campus Services

Upon arrival to campus, students will be given a student card, a student number and Laurentian e-mail address which will allow access to a variety of services.

Using your student card, students are able to:

  • Borrow books from our 7 campus libraries
  • Print and photocopy on machines situated throughout campus
  • Ride the city bus
  • Load money on their cards to pay for campus dining options
  • Have access to gym facilities and equipment rentals
  • Attend Voyageur sporting events
 
International Student Activity Program (ISAP)

The International Student Activity Program’s goal is to plan and organize activities both in and out of town for students during their free time. Activities are separate from their academic programming and are planned for evenings and weekends. Transportation is often provided for these activities; however, students are responsible for signing up and paying for each activity. Some past activities include: downhill skiing, Canada’s Wonderland and Vaughan Mills shopping trip, Niagara Falls trip, Ottawa/Montreal trip, Onaping Falls hike, dogsledding, hockey games, Northern Ontario sugar shacks and more!

 

What the City has to Offer

Sudbury is the largest city in Northern Ontario by population. It has beautiful natural landscapes and more than 330 lakes within the city limits. The City of Greater Sudbury offers the complete experience of the four seasons, and activities within the community to keep busy all year long. The summer offers warm and often hot temperatures, while the winters tend to be cooler and snow-filled.

Some popular city attractions include the many lakes and beaches, Bell Park, Science North, Dynamic Earth, New Sudbury Shopping Centre, Escape Rooms, golf courses, theaters, and many diverse restaurants.
