This interdisciplinary program combines environmental science, Indigenous knowledge, and social sciences to give you the tools to address biodiversity loss, climate change, and environmental sustainability, while preparing you to design solutions that consider multiple perspectives.
Dual Credentials: Earn both a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Solutions from Laurentian University and a Graduate Certificate in Environmental Control from Cambrian College. With these credentials, you’ll have a strong foundation in environment-focused science, significant field technical training, and a balanced perspective on social accountability and Indigenous views on environmental health.
- Hands-On Learning: Get practical experience through various projects and an internship placement that will expose you to real-world scenarios.
- Research: Complete a capstone research project that tackles an environmental challenge of your choosing.
- Community Engagement: Work with local communities to create impactful solutions for regional environmental issues.

Partnership with Cambrian College:
This program is offered jointly with Cambrian College. Students enrolled in the BSc in Environmental Solutions will complete years one, two and four at Laurentian University, while their third year will be spent at Cambrian College completing the Environmental Control Graduate Certificate program. Upon graduation, students will earn both a Laurentian University BSc and a Cambrian College Graduate Certificate, preparing them with the academic and applied skills needed for today’s environmental challenges.
Interdisciplinary Approach: Study a blend of environmental science, Indigenous knowledge, and social sciences to develop a holistic perspective and well-rounded understanding of both local and global environmental issues.
In-Demand Skills: Learn skills that are highly desirable in today’s job market.

Admission requirements based on grade 12 4U/M courses:
- 1 grade 12 U/M Science course
- 1 grade 12 U/M English course
- 1 grade 12 U/M Math course;
- 3 other grade 12 U/M courses.
- Minimum overall average of 70%
