Titres honorifiques

Chaque année, l’Université Laurentienne demande à la communauté universitaire de proposer des candidats potentiels à un titre honorifique. L’attribution d’un titre honorifique est un aspect important de la collation des grades et vise à honorer à la fois le lauréat et l’Université, mais aussi à inspirer les diplômés, leurs familles et leurs invités.

Les lignes directrices de l’université concernant les titres honorifiques
mettent l’accent sur les personnes qui :

  • ont apporté des contributions hors pair à l’avancement intellectuel dans des disciplines clés offertes à la Laurentienne;
  • reflètent les valeurs de l’université : priorité aux étudiants, excellence, liberté intellectuelle, respect, ancien, diversité, vérité, intégrité et inclusivité;
  • sont ou pourraient être d’importants bienfaiteurs de l’université sur le plan créatif, matériel ou financier;
  • ont fait des contributions hors pair au nord-est de l’Ontario;
  • ont la capacité d’améliorer la réputation de l’Université Laurentienne par leurs contributions remarquables dans leur domaine sur la scène nationale ou internationale.


Les propositions, qui doivent être soumises en janvier de chaque année, doivent être accompagnées d’une courte biographie et d’une justification de la proposition. Les lettres de recommandation ne sont pas nécessaires à ce stade. Les candidats ne doivent pas savoir que leur candidature a été proposée.
