This course provides a broad overview of the current practices in processing and recycling of solid waste generated in the mining and metallurgical industries. Novel technologies, concepts and recent advances in research and development in the utilization of industrial solid waste are discussed. Relevant scientific and engineering principles, unit processes and unit operations are studied. Environmental benefits of solid waste processing and recycling in the minerals industry are also examined.
