Archaeology and the Environment

This course examines human interactions with the environment over the past 15,000 years, using an archaeological lens. Topics include impacts on other species (domestication, extinction, and introduction into new habitats), as well as on soil, water, and air. The question of sustainability is studied through a range of case studies. Archaeological methods are also examined. PREREQ: ARCL 1006 or instructor's permission. (lec 2, sem 1) cr 3. Students may not retain credit for both ANTR 2116 and ARCL 2116.
