The (De) Colonial Struggle

This course provides a critical exploration of how colonialism, colonization and decolonization have shaped the relationship between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities in Canada. It examines the role of anthropology in historical and contemporary colonialism and the links between race and racism in key areas such as identity, family relations, land rights, and resource development. Prereq.: Minimum 18 University credits or permission of the instructor. (lec 2 and sem 1), 3 cr.
