The City As Home: International Perspectives on Indigenous People in Urban Centres
This course is an international comparative survey of the contemporary experiences of urban Aboriginal people in Canada, the United States, Australia, and New Zealand. With a focus on identity, culture, connection to place, and a sense of the city as home, this course explores a diversity of related topics such as Indigenous rights, rural - urban connections, community development, and Indigenous-Settler reconciliation as they are expressed and understood within each of the four countries. cr 3.
